Red Suede Pirate Boots

The boots that almost didn't happen...I originally brought these majestic pirate boots in powder blue suede because I loved the unusual colour. They were purchased at Topshop in Northampton or London (I can't quite remember) in 2005/6, I was really happy with the boots until I saw them in red.

I have always had a love of red boots since I brought a pair of super pointy shoe boot pair when I was 17; I referred to them as my witchin' boots. After seeing the boots in red, I knew they were the better pair and they were the perfect replacement for the boots in my youth. Luckily had not worn the original boots so I was able to exchange them!

These shoes are great and although I don't wear them all the time, I relish uncovering them for winter each year. They are now five or six years old but they still look almost brand new and I am yet to re-heel them. A classic boot which I hope to still own in another 5-6 years!!!

Pewter Glitter Jazz Shoes

Every now and again, you need something a little bit special and that was what I was after. In autumn/winter 2010 I had been coveting a pair of Miu Miu glitter jazz shoes for months but could not afford the £300+ price tag. Enter Topshop, who you can always rely on to do versions of high designers at cheaper prices. My Pewter Glitter jazz shoes were a complete steal at around £30 and "super cute".

I have had many compliments while wearing these shoes, one in particular I remember from London fashion week for AW11/12. Me and my friend had just been turned away from Henry Holland's show which is mortifying in its self and on the walk back to Somerset House, some fashwan guy shouted across the road that he loved my shoes which put a smile back on my face.

Unfortunately my shoes got caught in a very bad rain shower which made them start to foam, not a good sign, so I have had to relegate them to best only. Maybe I'll wear them at Christmas?

Burgundy Wedge Trainers

Those who know me, know that I don't really do the sports look but this spring/summer one of the biggest trends was hidden heel high tops and not one to be out done I brought myself a pair in July/August from River Island. Having debated for along time about colour, I eventually went for the burgundy to see me through the winter as well.

The first time I wore the shoes was to work, and it involved a 30 minute walk, I thought the trainers would be comfy but by the time I got to my desk my feet where battered and bruised. Note to self, 3 inch heels are not for walking in, even if they are hidden inside a pair of trainers.  It was also during the London 2012 Olympics and sportswear was high on everyone's agenda, I will always remember wearing these shoes and watching the swimmers dive on TV.

Black Leather Gladiator Sandals

Black, leather and fierce these super high gladiator shoes have been in my wardrobe since 2010 (i think). Purchased on a whim from Topshop the main pull to buy these bad boys was the height. Coming in at just over 5"3 I need all the help I can get. I have been on many a night out in these shoes, although the main one that springs to mind is wearing them to my friend's birthday bash in Clapham last year. The only reason I remember this is because I almost twisted my ankle about twenty times that night, never defeated, I still love these shoes and come summer I will be attempting to strut around in them again.

One, Two Buckle my Boot

These beige leather buckle ankle boots with a check lining were brought at the end of  last year (2011) as a present to myself after finishing my dissertation. Epically tired, yet deliriously happy I wondered down to Covent Garden and ended up purchasing the delightful shoes from Office. Apart from celebrating the end of my course, I also liked the fact that the shoes were dark beige. They are the only beige shoes that I think I have ever owned. The shoes also had twenty pounds off, BARGAIN!!!

Green Suede Court Shoes

This is my first post on this blog, I decided to create this blog because I have a huge love of footwear, I should have been a footwear designer!!! Anyway I currently work for a footwear company so I get to indulge in my passion. Each post I will talk about a pair of my shoes and what happened when I wore them, or why I brought them!

My first pair of shoes are these beautiful green suede court shoes with rose trim from Faith which I brought when I was in my first year of Uni, so I must have been around twenty years old. The shoes are quite decrepit now, but I can't throw them away as they were my first stylish pair of heels. I always felt grown up wearing them.

One of my first outtings in these shoes where to visit a friend at her Uni, I can't remember what I wore the shoes with, but I was feeling chic, that was until I slipped over on the wet floor and feel on my arse...this later prompted a boy to come up to me and say "you're the girl who fell over earlier". Embarrassing enough, I was always much more careful when wearing the beautiful heels.
